Although the main ingredient in this salad is peach, it's not a dessert fruit salad at all, but a fascinating, juicy appetizer served with the main course. This salad is especially good for a summer barbecue and will appeal to anyone who enjoys combining interesting flavors. Ripe peaches are sliced ​​and tossed with shredded iceberg lettuce in a creamy dressing made from sour milk (or kefir), sour cream, and lemon juice and zest. The highlight of the salad is the crispy pieces of fried bacon, which provide an intriguing crunch against the delicate peaches.


Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe peaches
  • 4 cups shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 1/4 cup sour milk
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 0.5 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 2 slices of fried bacon
  • 1 chive

    Step 1
  • Combine 1/4 cup each of sour milk and sour cream with 1/2 teaspoon of lemon zest and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice; season with salt and pepper to taste. Drizzle the dressing over 4 cups of shredded iceberg lettuce and toss with 2 large peaches, quartered. Season with salt and pepper to taste; top with crumbled bacon and finely chopped chives.
