Recipe for pork stewed with white wine in a slow cooker.


Ingredients:

  • 1 piece (1.3 - 1.8 kg) of boneless pork shoulder (or 2 kg with bone)
  • 1 tbsp coarse salt
  • 2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 onion, coarsely chopped
  • 4 cloves of garlic, crushed into a pulp
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Rinse the pork with cold water, place on a cutting board, pat dry with paper towels, and season with salt and pepper. Place the pork in a slow cooker, add the onion, garlic, and wine.

    Cook pork on high until the fibers separate easily, about 5 hours, or 8 hours on low.
  • Step 2
  • Turn off the slow cooker and transfer the pork to a serving dish. Using two forks, shred the meat.
  • Step 3
  • Pork can also be cooked in the oven at 160°C for 2.5 - 3.5 hours.
