This festive bread with dried cranberries is bursting with citrusy orange flavor, easy to make, and sure to please everyone. The recipe uses not only orange slices but also fresh orange juice and zest, so there's no shortage of flavor!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour, plus extra for dusting the pan
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp of soda
  • 110g chilled butter, cut into pea-sized pieces, plus extra for greasing the pan
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 3/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 orange, peeled and cut into cubes
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup dried cranberries
  • Special equipment: bread pan measuring 22x12 cm.
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Preheat oven to 175°C.
  • Step 2
  • In a food processor, combine the flour, sugar, salt, baking soda, and butter. Pulse until the mixture resembles finely grated cheese. Add the orange zest, juice, and egg. Pulse until smooth. Transfer to a bowl and toss with the diced orange and dried cranberries.
  • Step 3
  • Grease and flour a baking pan, then pour the dough into it. Bake in a preheated oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Rotate the pan halfway through baking to ensure even baking.

  • Let cool for about 20 minutes and remove the bread from the pan. Let cool completely before slicing.
