Stuffed lobster (Astakos) - detailed recipe.


Ingredients:

  • 2 lobsters (1.2 kg)
  • 225 g of crab meat
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp. breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg category C2
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
  • Chopped basil to taste
  • Chili pepper flakes to taste
  • 1 tbsp chopped dill
  • Salt and ground black pepper to taste
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • When cooking lobster, make sure it's alive. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil, drop in the lobster (tail first), and cook for 8-10 minutes. The shell should turn bright orange. Once cool, cut the lobsters in half lengthwise. Remove all the entrails from the head and rinse.
  • Step 2
  • In a bowl, combine the crab meat, mayonnaise, egg, 3/4 cup breadcrumbs, green onions, chili flakes, dill, salt, and pepper. Lay the lobster halves on their sides, meat side up, stuff the crab heads with the filling, sprinkle with the remaining breadcrumbs, and bake at 350°F (180°C) until the lobsters are heated through and the breadcrumbs are lightly browned.
