Ingredients:

  • 8 hot dog sausages
  • 4 cups canola oil for frying
  • 1 cup dry baking flour mix
  • 1 cup corn flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.25 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 egg category CO
  • 0.75 cups milk
  • 0.5 cup hot brown mustard
  • 0.25 tbsp. apricot preserves
  • 0.25 cups flour
  • You will needChinese chopsticks
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Pour oil into a deep heavy skillet or deep fryer and heat to 180°C.

    In a large bowl, combine the baking powder, cornflour, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper and whisk to combine. In another bowl, whisk the egg and milk. Pour the liquid ingredients into the dry mixture and whisk to combine.

    In a small bowl, combine mustard and apricot jam.
  • Step 2
  • Before frying, insert a skewer into the end of each sausage, piercing it about halfway. Dredge each sausage in flour, dip it in the batter, and carefully lower it into the hot oil.

    Fry 2-3 at a time until golden brown, 3-5 minutes. Drain on brown paper towels. Spread with sweet mustard sauce and serve warm.
