Apples paired with aromatic cinnamon, smooth cream cheese, and whipped cream make the perfect filling for pancakes. Caramel sauce completes this simple yet sophisticated dish. These pancakes are quick and easy to make for dessert or breakfast.

Ingredients:

  • 2 ready dessert pancakes diameter of about 25 cm.
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/8 tsp cinnamon
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup diced apples
  • 1/8 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp. cream cheese at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup whipped cream
  • 1 teaspoon Dolce de Leche caramel cream, room temperature
  • Powdered sugar for decoration, optional
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Place a small nonstick saucepan on the stovetop and combine the sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and salt with 2 tablespoons of cold water. Stir until dissolved.

    Add the apples and lemon juice and stir. Place over medium heat and cover. Cook for about 5 minutes, removing the lid occasionally and stirring until the apples are soft and the liquid has thickened.
  • Step 2
  • Remove the pan from the heat and transfer the mixture to a bowl. Let it cool for a few minutes. Stir in the cream cheese mixture thoroughly. Fold in the whipped cream.
  • Step 3
  • Lay the pancakes out flat on a dry surface. Spoon the apple mixture onto the pancakes in equal portions. Roll each pancake into a packet, first folding the edges inward, then folding the edges upward.
  • Step 4
  • Place a skillet coated with cooking spray over medium heat. Place the pancakes in the skillet, folded edges down. Cook until golden brown, about 1 minute per side.
