This delicate Japanese-style dipping sauce is made with cannellini beans and soft tofu, while miso paste, green onions, and soy sauce infuse it with a rich flavor profile. Perfect as an appetizer for a house party, sprinkle the dip with sesame seeds and green onions and serve with chips or crackers for dipping.


Ingredients:

  • 1 can (425 g) canned cannellini beans
  • 400 g tofu
  • 4 green onions
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons vegetable oil over medium heat. Add 4 thinly sliced ​​green onions (light parts only; reserve the dark parts for topping) and cook until softened, 2 minutes.
  • Step 2
  • Add 1 can (425 g) rinsed cannellini beans and 3 tablespoons miso paste and cook, stirring to coat, 2 to 3 minutes; season with pepper to taste. Remove from heat and stir in 4 teaspoons soy sauce and 1 teaspoon superfine sugar; cook until the beans are glazed.

  • Puree the beans in a food processor with one 400g package of soft tofu (drained) and 3 tablespoons of rice vinegar. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Sprinkle the dip with sesame seeds and green onions.
