Tofu is diced and simmered in a grill pan with celery, bell pepper, garlic, and onion in barbecue sauce. A touch of curry adds a distinctive oriental aroma and flavor. This dish will keep even vegetarian guests entertained at a barbecue party. Meat eaters will also appreciate it, as it can be served as a healthy appetizer or side dish.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp. l. olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, chopped
  • Half a red onion, chopped
  • Half a white onion, chopped
  • Half a red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 stalk celery, chopped
  • A pinch of curry
  • 2 packages of diced tofu
  • Barbecue sauce
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Preheat the grill to medium heat. Heat a grill pan and add olive oil. Combine the garlic, onion, bell pepper, and celery in the pan. Season with salt and a pinch of curry powder. Add the tofu and cook for 12 minutes. Add the barbecue sauce, cover the grill, and let the tofu simmer for 15 minutes. Serve immediately.
