This ziti pasta salad is packed with the vibrant flavors of the popular BLT combination (bacon, lettuce, and tomatoes), but instead of traditional lettuce, use arugula. Its savory note adds a richer flavor. A delicate sour cream and mayonnaise dressing with fresh basil, chives, and parsley also plays a key role. Serve as an appetizer or side dish.

Ingredients:
- 8 strips bacon, finely chopped
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
- 3 tbsp sour cream
- 2 tbsp finely chopped fresh chives
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- 1.5 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 200 g dry ziti pasta (tubes)
- 3 cups loosely packed arugula
- 3 ripe tomatoes, cut into pieces

Preparation:
- Step 1
- In a large saucepan, bring salted water to a boil. Step 2
- Place the bacon in a large, cold skillet over medium heat and cook, stirring occasionally, until crisp, about 10 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Set aside. Step 3
- In a large bowl, combine mayonnaise, basil, sour cream, green onions, parsley, lemon juice, 1/2 teaspoon salt and a few grinds of freshly ground black pepper. Step 4
- Add the pasta to boiling water and cook according to package directions. Drain and rinse the pasta under cold water to cool; add to the bowl with the dressing. Step 5
- Add the arugula and tomatoes to the bowl and toss. Season with salt and pepper to taste. The pasta salad is best served immediately.
