The star of this dish is Thai basil, which imbues it with a wonderful sweet and spicy aroma. Stir-fry ground chicken with spices and aromatic Asian sauces, add bell peppers and fresh Thai basil, and serve with steamed jasmine rice.

Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp. l. rapeseed oil (canola)
  • 1 tbsp. minced garlic
  • 1-2 tablespoons chopped Thai chili pepper
  • 220 g of minced chicken breast
  • 0.5 cups chopped champignons
  • 1.5 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 0.5 tbsp sugar
  • 0.5 tbsp sweet soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup chicken broth
  • 0.5 cup chopped red bell pepper
  • 0.5 cup Thai basil (ga-prao)
  • Steamed Jasmine Rice
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Heat oil in a large saucepan or wok over high heat. Add minced garlic and cook until golden. Add Thai chili pepper and stir well.
  • Step 2
  • Add the ground chicken and fry until half-cooked. Reduce the heat to medium and add the mushrooms, fish sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, sweet soy sauce, and chicken broth. Mix well.
  • Step 3
  • Once all the ingredients are ready, add the red bell pepper and Thai basil. Mix well and season with salt to taste. Serve with steamed jasmine rice.
