Thai Iced Tea - A Detailed Recipe.


Ingredients:

  • 5 tbsp of water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 5 whole stars star anise
  • 8 bags of black tea
  • 3/4 cup evaporated milk
  • Ice
  • Mint leaves for decoration
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • In a medium saucepan, bring the water, sugar, and star anise to a boil over medium heat. Remove from the heat and add the tea bags. Let the tea steep and cool to room temperature, about an hour.
  • Step 2
  • Discard the star anise and tea bags and add evaporated milk. Pour into a large pitcher and refrigerate for at least an hour, or until serving. Pour the tea into 4 glasses filled with ice. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and serve.
