This summer appetizer is a Spanish take on the classic Italian melon and ham. Ripe, juicy, sweet-tart tomatoes are complemented by a splash of red wine vinegar, which also infuses salty slices of Serrano ham and Manchego cheese.


Ingredients:

  • 600 g of tomatoes
  • Ham
  • Manchego cheese
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Slice 600g of medium ripe tomatoes into 4cm-wide wedges; season with salt and pepper and drizzle with 2 tbsp of white wine vinegar. Sprinkle each wedge with grated Manchego cheese and wrap with half a thin slice of Serrano jamón.
