Apple-cranberry sauce - detailed recipe.


Ingredients:

  • 170 g sweetened dried cranberries
  • 2 cups cranberry juice
  • 1 cinnamon stick, broken in half
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 2 red Gala apples, peeled and diced
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, bring the cranberry juice, cranberries, cinnamon, and sugar to a boil and cook for 5 minutes. Add the apples and cook, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries burst and the apples are tender, about 5 minutes.
  • Step 2
  • Pour 250g of sauce into a small bowl and dissolve the cornstarch. Stir constantly, then pour it into the sauce. Simmer for about 5 minutes.
  • Step 3
  • Remove from heat and pour into a gravy boat. Chill until thickened, about 30 minutes. Remove the cinnamon and serve.

    This sauce pairs well with Cabernet Sauvignon wine.
