Cherry lollipops

Lollipops are a great gift and a great addition to any holiday. This recipe uses ready-made cherry-flavored gelatin, so preparation takes minimal time. You'll need a candy thermometer and lollipop sticks.


Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup (60 g) butter
  • 1 package (85 g) of cherry-flavored gelatin powder
  • Special equipment: 20 lollipop sticks (10 cm), metal measuring spoon (15 ml), caramel thermometer
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Grease 2 large baking sheets with butter. Place 10 lollipop sticks on each sheet, leaving even distance between them. Stir the sugar, corn syrup, and butter in a small saucepan over low heat until the sugar dissolves. Bring to a simmer over low heat, stirring frequently. Continue cooking for 7 minutes, or until a candy thermometer registers 275°F (135°C). Add the gelatin and stir until smooth. Using a metal measuring spoon, quickly pour the syrup onto the end of each lollipop stick. Cool completely. Wrap each lollipop in plastic wrap and store in an airtight container.
