Serve shrimp cocktail at a house party, and your guests will be thrilled. Grilled shrimp are even more delicious. You can use any grill or grill pan, but the key is to get crispy stripes on the seafood, which will give it a very appetizing appearance. A dipping sauce made with chili sauce, horseradish, and lemon juice, with the addition of additional spices, is perfect. Its flavor is very piquant and balanced. Perfect for grilled shrimp.


Ingredients:

  • 16 large shrimp, cleared of shells and intestinal veins
  • 2/3 - 3/4 cup chili sauce
  • 2 tbsp. prepared horseradish
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice (from about half a lemon)
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon celery seeds, 1/3 handful
  • 1 inner stalk celery with leaves on top, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp. l. olive oil
  • 1 tsp smoked sweet paprika
  • A small handful of parsley, finely chopped
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Combine the first 7 ingredients in a bowl and season with pepper to taste. Refrigerate until ready to use.
  • Step 2
  • Heat a grill pan or grill to medium-high heat.
  • Step 3
  • Toss the shrimp with olive oil, salt, black pepper to taste, and smoked paprika. Thread the shrimp onto metal skewers for easier turning.
  • Step 4
  • Cook until the shrimp are pink and firm, about 7-8 minutes. Transfer them to a platter and drizzle with the sauce, or serve the sauce at the table.
