Cranberry Spritz with Thyme

Tart cranberries get a lovely floral twist from fresh blooming thyme in this elegant and light mocktail, a perfect holiday treat for guests of all ages. And the sparkling seltzer water makes it a perfect New Year's toast.


Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp. l. agave nectar
  • 3 tablespoons of filtered water
  • 6 sprigs of thyme
  • 3/4 cup chilled 100% cranberry juice, unsweetened
  • 2–3 cups chilled seltzer water, to taste
  • Ice
  • Additionally: glasses 200 ml.
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • In a saucepan, combine the agave syrup, water, and two sprigs of thyme and bring to a boil. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the water and agave have combined to form a light syrup. Remove from heat and let steep to infuse the thyme flavor. Let cool completely.
  • Step 2
  • Pour the thyme syrup and cranberry juice into glasses filled with ice. Top with chilled seltzer water to taste and garnish with fresh flowering thyme.
