Cream cheese Wellington with bacon and ranch dressing

How to Make Cream Cheese Wellington with Bacon and Ranch Dressing
Time: 45 min.
Complexity: easily
Quantity: 8 - 10 pcs.

Wellington is a beef dish baked in pastry.

This recipe is a cross between baked in brie dough and a more kid-friendly cream cheese. The result is a rather sophisticated appetizer, and the flavor of bacon and ranch dressing will be a hit with kids, too. If you can master this simple recipe, experiment with other flavors: garlic-sautéed mushrooms or curry paste for adult guests.

  • 170 g frozen puff pastry, defrosted

  • 1 tbsp finely chopped green onions, optional
  • Beaten egg or milk, for greasing, optional
  • Toast and vegetables, for serving

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Preheat oven to 190°C.

Place the dough on a floured surface and roll it out into a sheet large enough to wrap around a piece of cream cheese. Spread the outside of the cheese with ranch dressing, then sprinkle with bacon. Place it in the center of the dough. If using green onions, sprinkle them over the cream cheese.

Fold the edges of the dough over to cover the cream cheese, pressing the edges together with your fingers using a few drops of water. Fold the overhanging edges under to form a smooth rectangle. Brush with beaten egg or milk if you want a shiny surface.
  • Step 2
  • Place the slice in a small baking dish and bake until the crust is golden brown and the cream cheese is soft, 30-35 minutes. Serve with toast and vegetables.
