Time: 10 min.
Complexity: easily
Servings: 20

Step-by-step recipe for a New Year's dish with photos.

Among all the appetizers, our cheese spread wouldn't look as good with Cheddar cheese. Its addition enhances the appearance, because what tastes amazing should look great too.

Ingredients:

  • 450 g Cheddar cheese, cut into 3 cm cubes
  • 115 g cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup champagne
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp ground red pepper
  • 1/2 cup crushed toasted pecans for rolling
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

We recommend

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Place all ingredients in a food processor. Blend until smooth. Freeze until firm, about 30 minutes.

After the time has elapsed, roll into a ball and roll in nuts. Transfer to a serving platter and cover with cling film.
  • Step 2
  • Place in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld.

Let the cheeseball sit at room temperature before serving to allow the flavors to develop. Serve it at the New Year's table with vegetables, crackers, or toast on the side.
