White Christmas Margarita

How to Make a White Christmas Margarita
Time: 15 minutes plus ice freezing time
Complexity: easily
Servings: 4

While the Margarita cocktail is more popular during the warmer months, it can easily be transformed into a truly Christmas-themed treat. The flavor will be just as tropical, and the presentation will undoubtedly captivate your guests. A splash of coconut milk will give the cocktail a wintry white color, and coconut flakes around the rim of the glass will give the drink a snowy appearance. Add ice cubes with red cranberries frozen inside, a green lime wedge, and a delightful cocktail for a Christmas-themed toast is ready!

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 cups frozen cranberries
  • 1 tbsp. tequila blanco
  • 2/3 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (from about 6 limes) + 4 lime wedges, for serving
  • 6 tablespoons orange liqueur, such as Triple Sec
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened coconut milk
  • 3 tbsp. ultrafine sugar
  • 0.5 cup light corn syrup
  • 2 tbsp extra-fine sweet coconut flakes

We recommend

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Place the cranberries in the cavities of a standard ice cube tray (12 cubes). Fill the cavities with water and freeze for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  • Step 2
  • In a large shaker, combine 1/2 cup tequila, 1/3 cup lime juice, 3 tablespoons orange liqueur, 1.5 tablespoons coconut milk, and 1 tablespoon superfine sugar. Fill the shaker with plain ice cubes and shake vigorously to mix well and chill the cocktail.
  • Step 3
  • Pour corn syrup into a small shallow plate. Combine 1 tablespoon of superfine coconut sugar and 1 tablespoon of salt in another shallow plate. Dip the rim of a margarita glass (or other wide-mouthed glass) in the corn syrup, then dip the rim into the sugar mixture until it adheres to the rim. Decorate three more glasses in the same manner.
  • Step 4
  • Pour the cocktail from a shaker into two prepared glasses. Add 3 cranberry ice cubes to each glass and garnish with a lime wedge.
  • Step 5
  • Repeat with the remaining cocktail ingredients, pouring into the remaining two prepared glasses and adding 3 cranberry ice cubes and a lime wedge to each.
