Wine Syrah, or Shiraz, is produced in the Northern Rhône region of France, home to wines such as Côte-Rôtie, Hermitage, and Cornas. In the Southern Rhône, Syrah is blended with Mouvedre and Grenache.

These wines have gained popularity worldwide. In Australia, Grange wine is produced from Syrah, which is then used in the production of many other wines, most often fortified ones.

The Syrah grape variety is loved by winemakers all over the world.

Main characteristics of wine

Color: red, dark, young wine may have a blue tint.

Extractivity, or density: from medium to rich.

Taste: A wide range of flavors, from hints of gooseberry and blueberry to coffee with black or white pepper. A high alcohol content is often noticeable.

What are the names: "Syrah" in France and Eastern European countries, "Shiraz" in America and Western European countries. However, in the latter countries, producers may sometimes also call their wine "Syrah."

What to mix with: with a small amount of Viognier white wine. This gives the Syrah a more pleasant aroma and improves the color.

Store or drink? This wine is best drunk immediately after purchase, but it can be stored for a long time.
