Natural non-alcoholic cider is unfiltered apple juice, making the perfect cocktail for cool weather. Simmer the spiced cider in a slow cooker to infuse the spices, and add the alcohol just before serving to prevent it from evaporating.

Ingredients:

  • 3 liters of natural non-alcoholic apple cider
  • 5 cm ginger root, peeled
  • 2 cinnamon sticks, 7 cm each.
  • 2 tsp whole cloves
  • 2 tsp allspice peas
  • 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
  • 0.5 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 orange, thinly sliced
  • 1.5 cups of gin
  • Special equipment: gauze
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Pour the apple cider into the slow cooker. Place the ginger, cinnamon sticks, cloves, allspice, and black peppercorns in a cheesecloth and tie it to form a bag.
  • Step 2
  • Add the spice bag, brown sugar, and orange slices to the slow cooker. Cook for 1 hour, then reduce the heat to low and continue cooking for another 4 hours. Just before serving, add the gin. Serve the cider in mugs.
