These delicious salmon and tuna rolls are easy to make at home, but your loved ones will hardly believe you didn't order them at a restaurant! Filled with fresh salmon and cucumber, the outside is topped with slices of lightly seared tuna. A super-hot topping made with three types of chili peppers adds a special flavor. Use the topping sparingly for a balanced spiciness.

Ingredients:


Hot sauce
  • 1 cup cilantro leaves
  • 0.5 cup lemon juice
  • 1/4 tbsp salt
  • 7 Thai chili peppers
  • 6 habanero pods
  • 4 serrano pods
  • 2 small circles of white onion

5-Star Rolls
  • 2 sheets of sharp nori
  • 1 cup of boiled sushi rice
  • Half a cucumber, peeled and seeded, and cut into thin strips
  • 2 spicy raw salmon fillets (about 170g each)
  • 110 g of seared spicy tuna
  • Special equipment: bamboo mat
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Hot sauce:

    Combine cilantro, lemon juice, salt, chili and onion in a blender and blend for 5 minutes until smooth.
  • Step 2
  • Rolls:

    Cover the bamboo mat with a piece of plastic wrap. Place one sheet of nori on the mat. Add half the sushi rice and press firmly to create an even layer. Turn the bamboo mat over so the rice is on the outside of the roll.
  • Step 3
  • Place half of the spicy salmon and cucumbers on the nori. Roll the mat forward, pressing the ingredients together to form a roll. Remove from the film.
  • Step 4
  • Place half of the seared tuna on top of the roll. Cut the roll into small pieces and drizzle with hot sauce. Repeat with the remaining ingredients to make the second roll.
