Baked Brie with Cranberries, Pecans, and Bacon

How to Make - Baked Brie with Cranberries, Pecans, and Bacon
Time: 1 hour 15 minutes
Complexity: easily
Servings: 6

Baked Brie Dip is a fun alternative to a cheeseboard or fondue. Serve this appetizer to your guests, and it will be so delightful you'll want to make more than one serving. Place a wheel of Brie in a suitable baking dish, cut off the top rind, sprinkle with a mixture of cranberries, pecans, fried bacon, and spices, and bake in the oven until the cheese melts and is perfect for dipping bread or crackers. This appetizer impresses with its harmonious combination of sweet, salty, and smoky flavors. For variety, experiment with different types of dried fruits and nuts.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C). Place the bacon in a large skillet and cook over medium heat until golden and crispy, 4-5 minutes per side. Transfer the bacon to paper towels to cool, then finely chop.
  • Step 2
  • In a small bowl, combine bacon, pecans, cranberries, apricots, rosemary, vinegar, a pinch of salt and a few grinds of black pepper.
  • Step 3
  • Remove the brie from its packaging. Trim the top rind, leaving a 0.5 cm border around the edges. (Use a sharp knife and cut at a slight angle.) Discard the trimmed rind. Place the brie in a small baking dish. Spoon some of the prepared mixture on top, and scatter the rest around the cheese. Cover the dish with foil and bake until the cheese is warm and gooey, 30-35 minutes.
  • Step 4
  • Serve with bread, crackers and apple and/or pear slices.
