Hot sandwiches with cheese, tomatoes, and herbs are very filling, delicious, and juicy. They look summery and are full of Mediterranean flavors. First, olive oil is mixed with chopped oregano, salt, and red pepper flakes. This oil is used both for toasting the bread and for serving the sandwiches. Rub the grilled baguette with garlic while it's still warm and crisp, then toast the bottom with sliced ​​tomatoes and slices of provolone cheese, which should be deliciously melted. The result is elegant sandwiches perfect for serving to guests.


Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp. l. olive oil
  • 1 tbsp. l. chopped oregano
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Half a baguette, cut in half lengthwise
  • 1 large clove of garlic, cut in half
  • 1 medium tomato, halved and sliced ​​into 0.5cm thick slices.
  • 110 g thin slices of provolone cheese
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, oregano, red pepper flakes, and a pinch of salt. Brush the baguette slices with the herb oil. Grill, cut-side down, until golden brown, about 4 minutes.

  • Rub the toasted sides of the baguette with garlic. Top with tomato slices, season with salt, and top with cheese slices. Grill, covered, until the cheese is melted, 3-5 minutes. Drizzle with the remaining herb oil and season with salt. Slice and serve.
