A Mediterranean-style Creamsicle float recipe. This sophisticated cocktail consists of ice cream topped with orange lemonade and saffron syrup.

Cocktail float A bubbly ice cream drink is made with sparkling water and various other ingredients. The specialty of this cocktail is that whipped cream is placed on top, creating a floating effect.


Ingredients:

  • 600 g of blood orange lemonade
  • 500 ml vanilla ice cream
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • A small pinch of saffron threads
  • Crushed candied orange peel for garnish
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Prepare saffron syrup: In a small saucepan, bring 1/4 cup water and sugar to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves. Add the saffron and remove from heat. Cool completely.

    Place a scoop of ice cream in 4 glasses and top with lemonade. Drizzle with saffron syrup and garnish with candied orange peel.
