This Mexican cocktail is made with beer and spicy sauces and is typically served the morning after a night of drinking as a great hangover cure. There's no set recipe for a michelada, so everyone experiments with spices in their own way. Try a spicy michelada with taco seasoning and a splash of Tabasco hot sauce.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp. taco seasoning
  • 1 wedge of lime
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon hot Mexican sauce (a type of salsa)
  • A few drops of Worcestershire sauce
  • One bottle (0.33 l) of chilled Mexican lager
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Sprinkle taco seasoning on a small plate. Rub the rim of a pint glass with a lime wedge, then dip it in the taco seasoning to coat. Place the lime wedge in the glass.
  • Step 2
  • In the bottom of a glass, combine the soy sauce, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and a lime wedge. Add a pinch of the remaining taco seasoning from the plate and mix well.
  • Step 3
  • Pour the beer down the side of the glass and stir gently. Serve.
