Pear Martini

Why is autumn all about apples? It's also the season for sweet, juicy pears! Giada de Laurentiis uses pears to create her enchanting autumn martini, just the right amount of sweet and slightly spicy. Garnish each glass with a pear slice and enjoy!


Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup of vodka
  • 1/4 cup dry vermouth
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (from 3 large limes)
  • Peel two ripe pears, 200g each, such as Komis, remove the cores and cut into 2cm pieces.
  • Half an unpeeled pear, sliced ​​0.5cm thick, for garnish
  • Ice
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Prepare simple sugar syrup: In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and 0.5 cups of water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves, about 5 minutes. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the syrup cool for about 15 minutes.
  • Step 2
  • In a blender, combine syrup, vodka, vermouth, lime and pear juice and blend until smooth.
  • Step 3
  • For each drink, pour a small amount of the pear mixture into a shaker with ice and shake well. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with pear slices and serve.
