Finish your dinner with this heady coffee topped with whipped cream. What sets this cocktail apart from the classic is the addition of a squeeze of fresh lemon zest to the whipped cream. The subtle citrus flavor makes a refreshing complement to the rich coffee.

Ingredients:


Coffee
  • 2 tablespoons of hot water
  • 1 tbsp. l. brown sugar
  • 1 shot of Irish whiskey
  • 2–2.5 shots of hot espresso

Lemon Vanilla Whipped Cream
  • 1.5 cups heavy cream, chilled
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 tsp. grated lemon zest
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

    Step 1
  • Combine hot water and brown sugar in a mug. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
  • Step 2
  • Add whiskey and espresso. Top with a dollop of whipped cream. Serve immediately with a spoon.

    Lemon Vanilla Whipped Cream:
    Yield: 6 servings

    In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment, combine the heavy cream, sugar, vanilla, and lemon zest. Beat until soft peaks form.
