Cook a delicious breakfast over a campfire with potatoes, bacon, cheese, and fried eggs. You'll need a cast-iron sandwich maker. Preheat it before adding the potato mixture, and the sandwich will be deliciously crispy on the outside with gooey cheese on the inside.

  • 4 slices fried bacon, diced
  • 110 g of grated cheddar
  • 3 cups frozen shredded hash brown potatoes
  • 110 g butter
  • Special equipment: square cast iron sandwich maker

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Light a campfire or charcoal grill and heat a square cast iron sandwich maker.
  • Step 2
  • Lightly beat the eggs in a large bowl. Add the bacon, cheddar, grated potato, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper and mix until evenly distributed.
  • Step 3
  • Carefully remove the sandwich maker from the heat. Open it and add 2 tablespoons of butter; swirl to coat. Add a quarter of the potato mixture to the sandwich maker and close it. Return to the heat and cook for 2 minutes, turning every few seconds. Remove the sandwich maker from the heat and transfer the contents to a plate. Repeat with the remaining butter and potato mixture.
