Creamy chocolate sauce for desserts

How to Make - Creamy Chocolate Sauce for Desserts
Time: 15 min.
Complexity: easily
Servings: 4

This delicate chocolate dip is the perfect ending to a Valentine's Day dinner, whether you're hosting a romantic dinner for two or celebrating with the whole family. Dark cocoa powder gives it a deep, rich color, but if you don't have it, substitute regular unsweetened cocoa powder (the finished dessert will just be slightly lighter). Fresh strawberries are the perfect accompaniment to this dip, but other fruits or even crunchy cookies will also work.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Whip the cream in a stand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment until foamy. Add the vanilla and 1/4 cup powdered sugar and continue beating until soft peaks form. Transfer to a bowl.
  • Step 2
  • In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat the cream cheese on medium speed until smooth, about 1 minute. Scrape down the sides of the bowl and add the cocoa powder and the remaining 1 cup powdered sugar. Mix on low speed until the powdered sugar is completely incorporated, then increase the speed to medium-high and beat until very light and fluffy, 1 to 2 minutes. Add the whipped cream and mix on low speed until fully incorporated.
  • Step 3
  • Transfer the sauce to a serving bowl. Divide the toasted coconut, chocolate chips, chopped nuts, and sprinkles into individual small bowls and serve with the dip and strawberries. Dip the strawberries in the dip, then top with your choice of toppings.
