Brie Cheese and Champagne Fondue

A step-by-step recipe for making fondue with brie cheese and champagne.


Ingredients:

  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp. l. Kirsha (cherry brandy)
  • 450 g brie cheese, chilled
  • 1 clove garlic, cut in half
  • 1 cup dry champagne
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/8 tsp white pepper
  • 1 baguette, cut into cubes, cut so that each piece has a crust
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Mix cornstarch with cherry brandy. Cut the chilled brie into small pieces.
  • Step 2
  • Rub a saucepan with a clove of garlic, add champagne and lemon juice, and bring to a gentle simmer. Reduce heat to low and stir in the brie. Add the cornstarch mixture and stir for a couple of minutes until smooth and thick. Pour the cheese mixture into a fondue pot set over the flame and season with white pepper. Serve with bread cubes on fondue forks.
