Prepare delicious Asian-style grilled salmon. Except for marinating time, the entire process takes just minutes. For this recipe, use skin-on salmon fillets. Marinate them for half an hour in a mixture of soy sauce, fresh ginger, maple syrup, hot sauce, and spices, reserving some of the marinade for glazing the fish while grilling. The salmon turns out incredibly juicy, with a crispy skin and a delicious glaze, packed with a savory, sweet, spicy, and tart flavors. Serve sprinkled with finely chopped green onions and sesame seeds.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup olive oil + extra for frying
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp. l. sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp. chopped ginger
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp. Chinese mustard
  • 1 tbsp Sriracha sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 4 salmon fillets with skin (170-200 g each)
  • 1 bunch green onions, finely chopped
  • Sesame seeds for sprinkling
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, maple syrup, Chinese mustard, Sriracha sauce, and garlic. Pour one-third of the mixture into a small bowl and set aside. Add the salmon fillets to the large bowl. Marinate in the refrigerator, covered, for 30 minutes.
  • Step 2
  • Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add a little olive oil to coat the pan. Place the fish skin-side down and cook until crispy, about 5 minutes. Pour the reserved marinade over the fish. Flip and cook until the salmon is cooked through and the flesh is golden brown, another 3-4 minutes. Sprinkle with green onions and sesame seeds and serve.
