This frozen strawberry lemonade with an alcoholic twist is hard to resist on a hot day. Refreshing, bursting with the summery flavors of strawberries and sparkling lemon, it's a perfect treat for any house party. Frozen strawberries are blended with simple syrup (water and sugar mixed in a 1:1 ratio), lemon juice, gin, and plenty of ice. The resulting berry-flavored slush is poured into glasses, garnished with a lemon wedge, and served as a boozy frozen dessert.


Ingredients:

  • 200 g strawberries, hulled
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 lemons
  • 0.5 cups of gin
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Place strawberries on a plate and place in the freezer until firm, at least 1 hour.
  • Step 2
  • Meanwhile, combine 1/3 cup water and sugar in a small saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves. Let the syrup cool completely.
  • Step 3
  • Combine the cooled syrup, strawberries, 1.5 cups of ice, lemon juice, and gin in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and garnish each serving with a lemon wedge.
