How to Make Artichoke Whiskey

Fans of the classic Manhattan cocktail will love this interesting variation, using Chinar artichoke bitters instead of Angostura. The other ingredients remain the same: rye whiskey and sweet vermouth. Garnish the glass with a piece of fennel root and orange zest and enjoy.


Ingredients:

  • 60 ml rye whiskey
  • 15 ml. artichoke liqueur, for example Chinar
  • 15 ml sweet vermouth, such as Carpano Antica
  • 1 slice of fennel
  • 1 strip of orange zest
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

    Step 1
  • Add rye whiskey, artichoke liqueur, and sweet vermouth to a cocktail glass filled with ice. Stir for 30 seconds to chill. Strain over ice. Garnish with a slice of fennel and orange zest.
