Iced tea with whiskey and sage - a detailed recipe.


Ingredients:


For the tea syrup:
  • 1 cup of brewed black tea
  • 3 tablespoons of honey

For the cocktail:
  • 3 leaves of fresh sage
  • 5 ml. bitter "Peisho"
  • 25 ml freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 45 ml of whiskey
  • 15 ml. liqueur "Averna"
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Prepare tea syrup: Pour the tea into a small saucepan, add honey, and stir. Place the saucepan on the stove and bring to a boil. Simmer over low heat until the mixture thickens slightly, about 10 minutes, then cool completely.
  • Step 2
  • Prepare a cocktail: Place 2 sage leaves in a shaker, add 1 tablespoon of tea syrup, Peychaud's bitters, and orange juice. Then crush with a long pestle. Add whiskey and Averna liqueur, and fill the shaker three-quarters full with ice. Shake lightly, then strain the cocktail into a martini glass. Garnish the glass with a sage leaf.
