This spicy, creamy dip, filled with chunks of grilled chicken, tastes just like the popular Buffalo chicken wings and is a perfect beer accompaniment. It's much easier to eat without getting messy, unlike greasy wings. The dip is easy to make: just mix all the ingredients together and bake. Before serving, sprinkle the dip with carrot and celery pieces for added crunch and a refreshing flavor. Scoop up the dip with tortilla chips and enjoy with a cold glass of beer.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 0.5 cup finely crumbled blue cheese (about 70 g)
  • 0.5 cup hot sauce, such as Frank's
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 2 packages of 220g cream cheese, room temperature
  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken (about half a rotisserie chicken)
  • 1 medium carrot, finely chopped (about 0.5 cups) + carrot sticks, for serving
  • 2 stalks celery, finely chopped (about 1/2 cup) + extra stalks for serving
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped parsley
  • Tortilla chips, for serving
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Preheat oven to 190°C.
  • Step 2
  • Combine sour cream, blue cheese, hot sauce, milk, and cream cheese in a food processor and process until smooth. Transfer the mixture to a medium bowl and toss with the chicken.
  • Step 3
  • Transfer the chicken mixture to an 8-inch (20 cm) square baking dish and smooth the surface. Bake until the dip is heated through and just beginning to brown around the edges, 25 to 30 minutes. Transfer the dish to a wire rack and let cool for 5 minutes.
  • Step 4
  • Sprinkle with shredded carrots and celery, then sprinkle with parsley. Serve hot with tortilla chips, celery, and carrots for dipping.
