When you're craving a sweet-tart, refreshing Margarita but aren't quite ready for the booze, make this non-alcoholic version of a frozen Margarita with lime and orange juice. Make sure your blender is powerful enough to turn the ice cubes into a snow-like mass. Serve in glasses rimmed with salt.

Ingredients:

  • 2/3 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1/3 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1/3 cup light agave syrup
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 1 cup chilled lime-flavored seltzer water
  • Special equipment: 12-cube ice tray
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Combine lime juice, orange juice, and agave syrup in a liquid measuring cup. Pour into an ice cube tray and freeze for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  • Step 2
  • Place salt in a small dish. Place the rims of two glasses in water, then dip them in the salt to adhere.
  • Step 3
  • Combine ice cubes, seltzer water, and frozen juice cubes in a blender and blend on high speed until smooth. Pour into prepared glasses and serve immediately.
