This delicious Asian-inspired beef and vegetable dish is prepared using the stir-fry technique and will be ready in just 15 minutes. Prepare all the ingredients ahead of time to avoid distractions and set them near the stove. White rice is the perfect side dish for these savory vegetables and meat in teriyaki sauce.

Ingredients:

  • 3 (200 g) ramp steaks
  • 1 tbsp dark brown sugar
  • Zest and juice of 1 lime
  • 6 tablespoons soy sauce
  • Ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup thick teriyaki sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp dark sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp. l. rice vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • 2.5 cm ginger root, peeled and cut into strips
  • 1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and thinly sliced
  • 220 g green beans, cut in half crosswise
  • 1 cup of julienned carrots
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 110 g snow peas, halved lengthwise
  • Boiled white rice for serving
  • 2 green onions, chopped, for serving
  • 2 tsp sesame seeds for serving
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Cut the beef into 2.5 x 5 x 0.5 cm strips. Place in a bowl and sprinkle with brown sugar, lime zest, a little black pepper, and 3 tablespoons of soy sauce. Set aside for a few minutes while you prepare the sauce.
  • Step 2
  • In a bowl, combine teriyaki sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, rice vinegar, lime juice, and the remaining 3 tablespoons soy sauce.
  • Step 3
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the beef and cook, stirring, until browned around the edges, 2-3 minutes. Transfer to a plate and keep warm.
  • Step 4
  • Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil to the pan. Add the garlic, ginger, and jalapeño and cook for 30 seconds. Add the green beans, carrots, and bell pepper and cook, stirring, for 1 minute. Add the peas.
  • Step 5
  • Add the beef with its juices and sauce and cook for another minute.
