A bottle of sparkling wine is the base for Giada De Laurentiis' cocktail, which is topped with a fragrant mint syrup and a few fresh mint leaves.


Ingredients:

  • 1 bottle (750 ml) chilled Prosecco or French champagne
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • Zest and thinly sliced ​​slices of 1 lemon
  • Zest and thinly sliced ​​1 lime
  • 1/2 cup chopped raspberries
  • 5 sprigs of fresh mint
  • 2 cups mint simple syrup, see recipe below
  • Ice chips

Mint Sugar Syrup:
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tbsp of water
  • 1 cup fresh mint leaves (tamp down firmly)
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • In a large pitcher, combine Prosecco, orange juice, mint syrup, lime and lemon zest. Add sliced ​​raspberries, lemon and lime wedges, and mint sprigs.

    Fill glasses with crushed ice and top with sangria. Serve immediately.

    Mint Sugar Syrup:

    In a small saucepan, combine the sugar, water, and mint and place over medium heat. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let the syrup cool for 20 minutes. Strain before using. Yield: 2.5 cups.
