Tender salmon fillet in a zesty mustard-garlic marinade, grilled. This simple and delicious dish, made with readily available ingredients, can be prepared outdoors on a barbecue grill with minimal effort and time.


Ingredients:


Salmon
  • 1 half fresh salmon fillet, boneless but with skin (about 1400 gr.)

Marinade
  • 2 tbsp mustard
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 6 tbsp. l. olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp minced garlic
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Light charcoal briquettes in a grill and coat the grill grate with vegetable oil to prevent skin from sticking.
  • Step 2
  • While the grill is preheating, place the salmon skin-side down on a cutting board and slice it crosswise into 4 equal pieces. Whisk together the mustard, soy sauce, olive oil, and garlic in a small bowl. Pour half the marinade over the salmon and let it sit for 10 minutes.
  • Step 3
  • Place the salmon skin-side down on a hot grill; discard the marinade. Grill for 4-5 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fish. Carefully flip with a wide spatula and grill for another 4-5 minutes. The salmon will be slightly raw in the center, but don't worry—it will cook through as it rests after grilling.
  • Step 4
  • Transfer the fish skin-side down to a flat plate and pour the reserved marinade over it. Let the fish rest for 10 minutes. Remove the skin and serve warm, at room temperature, or chilled.
