Chicken wings in hot sauce

How to cook chicken wings in hot sauce
Time: 40 min.
Complexity: easily
Servings: 4

The secret to these wings is that they're first fried and then baked in a spicy sauce, infusing them with its flavor and aroma. The crispy wings pair perfectly with beer, while the cheese sauce and celery soften their savory flavor.

Ingredients:

  • 24 pieces of chicken wings (12 wings divided into 2 parts)
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 350 gr. hot sauce with cayenne pepper
  • 110 g butter
  • A few drops of Worcestershire sauce
  • A few drops of Tabasco sauce
  • Blue cheese sauce, for serving
  • Celery stalks for serving
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

We recommend

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (165°C). Heat 3 inches (8 cm) of oil in a heavy saucepan on the stovetop to 375°F (190°C).
  • Step 2
  • Place half the chicken wings in hot oil and fry for 5-7 minutes, until crispy. Transfer the wings to a paper towel to drain excess oil. Fry the second batch in the same manner. In a saucepan, heat the hot sauce and butter over medium-low heat. Add the Worcestershire sauce and Tabasco. Let it simmer briefly and turn off the heat.
  • Step 3
  • Place the wings in a baking dish and pour the sauce over them. Stir until all the pieces are coated. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes.

Serve with blue cheese sauce, celery sticks... and your favorite cold, foamy drink.
