These soft Belgian waffles are a creative alternative to ham and cheese sandwiches. You can use your favorite waffle dough recipe or a store-bought waffle mix. Simply add diced ham and grated cheese to the prepared dough and cook in a waffle iron. Serve for breakfast with natural maple syrup or as a snack, cutting the thick waffles into sticks.   • 1 cup grated cheddar

  • 2 tbsp. waffle batter

1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Stir ham, cheese, and black pepper into the prepared waffle batter in a large bowl.
  • Step 2
  • Preheat the waffle iron and spray with cooking spray. Pour a small amount of batter into the waffle iron, pushing it toward the corners. Close the lid and leave it there until the waffles are cooked through and golden brown in some spots, 6-8 minutes. Continue cooking until all the batter is used.
  • Step 3
  • Cut the waffles into sticks, transfer to plates and serve with maple syrup.
