Ingredients:


Blueberry Sage Syrup
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 0.5 cup blueberries
  • 0.5 cup sage leaves

Drink
  • 60 ml of distilled soft drink
  • 20 ml Lyre's Orange Sec non-alcoholic liqueur
  • 15 ml freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 4 drops of orange bitters
  • Merlot salt, for serving
  • Edible flower, lime wheel and/or sage leaf for serving
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Make blueberry sage syrup:

    Combine sugar, water, and blueberries in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly. Mix the berries thoroughly, mashing them into a puree. Add the sage and simmer for 2–3 minutes. Let cool for 10 minutes, then strain through a sieve, squeezing out the berries. Refrigerate the syrup until completely cool, about 1 hour.
  • Step 2
  • Prepare a drink:

    Combine non-alcoholic tequila, liqueur, lime juice, bitters, and 20 ml of blueberry-sage syrup in a shaker with ice. Shake well. Strain into a cocktail glass (either rim the glass with salt or sprinkle salt on top). Add ice. Garnish with a flower, lime wheel, or sage leaf.
