Cognac Cocktail Recipe - Hot Apple-Cinnamon Drink with Butter.


Ingredients:

  • 1900 ml (8 cups) apple juice
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Zest of 1 lemon, cut into strips
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • Zest of 1 orange, cut into strips
  • 3 tubes cinnamon
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 3 tsp butter, room temperature
  • Bourbon, whiskey or cognac (optional)
  • Cinnamon candy sticks, for garnish (optional)
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Combine apple juice, citrus juices, zest, cinnamon sticks, and cloves in a saucepan. Place the saucepan on the stove and heat the mixture over medium heat for about 20 minutes, without bringing it to a boil.
  • Step 2
  • Pour the drink into mugs, reserving the zest and spices in the pan. Then add 1/2 teaspoon of butter to each mug. For an alcoholic drink, you can add bourbon, whiskey, or cognac. Serve hot, garnished with a cinnamon stick.
