Hot drink made from rum and butter


How to Make - Hot Rum Drink with Butter

Substituting hot milk for hot water will give this classic, rich cocktail a richer texture. Add a knob of butter to the finished drink and sprinkle with nutmeg just before serving.


Ingredients:

  • 30 ml dark rum
  • 60 ml hot milk (for a lighter version, use hot water)
  • 1 tsp. brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp (15 g) butter
  • Grated nutmeg
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Prepare a mug to warm up and drink from. Make sure it's heat-resistant.

    Fill the mug with hot tap water and cover with a saucer. When the mug is hot, pour out the hot water and add brown sugar and hot milk (or, if you prefer, fresh hot water).

    Stir until the sugar dissolves, then add the rum. Carefully place a knob of butter on the surface and sprinkle with nutmeg.
