Honey Vanilla Lemonade

How to Make Honey Vanilla Lemonade
Time: 10 min.
Complexity: easily
Quantity: 3.7 l

In hot weather, there's nothing better than refreshing yourself with cold homemade lemonade. Unlike store-bought varieties, it's rich in vitamins and contains no artificial additives. Natural flavorings like honey and vanilla bean add an extra pleasant aroma. Boil them down with sugar and sweeten the resulting syrup with lemon juice diluted with water. It's best to make a large batch of lemonade at once. After all, you can treat guests at a family party and quench your thirst all day long.

Ingredients:

  • 2.5 cups lemon juice (from about 24 lemons)
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 0.5 cups honey
  • 2 cups of water and a little more if needed
  • 1 vanilla bean
  • Lemon wedges or slices for serving
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • In a large saucepan, combine the sugar, honey, and 2 cups of water over medium-high heat. Split the vanilla bean in half lengthwise and, using the blunt side of a knife, scrape out the seeds. Add them to the saucepan along with the bean.
  • Step 2
  • Bring the mixture to a boil and simmer for 4–5 minutes, until the sugar dissolves and the syrup thickens. Remove from heat and let cool.
  • Step 3
  • Pour lemon juice into a 4-liter pitcher. Strain the sugar syrup through a sieve. Discard any remaining vanilla. Add water to the pitcher and stir well.
  • Step 4
  • Serve over ice and lemon wedges or slices.
